About the salon
Belinda founded Village Flair in 1981, and it has been at the heart of Ashington village ever since.
We are hairdressers in Ashington, West Sussex, with two rooms and a welcome for everyone, from children to pensioners. Some of our clients call the salon the magical part of Ashington.
Every one of us is an all-round stylist. We all cut and blow-dry, and we all do wedding hair and hair for parties and occasions. We offer teas and coffees, and our own car park is right in front of the salon. Rose Nails, Nem’s nail studio, has its own space inside the salon.

How do I book a hair appointment?
Call Village Flair on 01903 892670. Every appointment is booked by telephone. We don’t take bookings online.
Where is the salon?
Village Flair Hair & Beauty is at Dorlyn House, London Road, Ashington, Pulborough, West Sussex RH20 3JT, just off the A24 between Horsham and Worthing. It has its own car park in front of the salon and is wheelchair accessible, and it is open Tuesday to Saturday, 9am to 5pm.
Do I need a skin test before colour?
Yes. We ask for a skin test 48 hours before any colour or other chemical service, including perms and smoothing treatments. Your colour consultation happens at the same visit as the skin test.
Do you do wedding hair?
Yes. We do wedding hair-ups here in the salon. Hair-ups start from £40 and wedding trials from £60. We do prom and party hair-ups too, from £40. We don’t travel to venues.
What products do you use?
Wella Professionals, for everything. We also sell Wella products in the salon.
Do you have prices for pensioners and students?
Yes. Pensioners from State Pension age and students pay less for cuts, blow-dries, perms and colour. For example, a ladies’ cut and blow-dry is £34 instead of £42.
Do you sell gift vouchers?
Yes. Gift vouchers are sold in the salon. We don’t sell them online.
Which payment cards do you take?
We accept debit and credit cards, except American Express.
What is your cancellation policy?
Please give us at least 24 hours’ notice if you need to cancel. Cancellations with less than 24 hours’ notice are charged 50% of the booked service, because they don’t leave us time to fill the appointment. Missed appointments are charged in full.
Do you cut men’s and children’s hair?
Yes. A men’s cut and finish is £22, a men’s cut only is £20, and children’s cuts start from £18. Book by telephone, the same as any other appointment.
How much is a cut and blow-dry at Village Flair?
At Village Flair in Ashington, West Sussex, a ladies’ cut and blow-dry is £42. It includes a shampoo and takes about an hour. A restyle, cut and blow-dry is £48, and a shampoo and blow-dry is £24 for short hair or £28 for long hair. Pensioners from State Pension age and students pay £34 for a ladies’ cut and blow-dry.
